How I made my February page IIII

Wow, we must have been inspired - 4 layouts between Lynn & I this month!

My second page is from a pad of 12x12 papers called Up & Away by Mindy Terasawa which I found while out shopping with Lynn.
They were just what I had been looking for to start a new project.

I cut some of the papers into the 3" squares as before and once I had inked the edges, stuck them onto a 12x12 cream sheet.
The papers included a sheet of assorted tags and an alphabet too.
I cut around the letters, inked the edges and added to the tags with 3d foam, then added the bunting with more 3d pads. I used bakers twine through the holes in the tags, looping it along the way.
Some of the papers are thermographically glittered as you can see below, just gorgeous!

I cut a round tag and added below the photograpgh which is 13x14cm and mounted onto the reverse of one of the papers.
A selection of buttons from my button box were threaded with the same twine and added.
And of couse, the random cross stitches onto the page.
There is still time to enter this months challenge too!
Thanks for looking.

How I made my February page III

This is my second layout our February Challenge.

A reminder that the challenge was to scraplift this clever layout by SJ, it was a class she taught at the Cardinal Colours Retreat last year.

This is the Scrapology sketch

I used a pad of  8"x8" papers from Glitz Design called Love Games, which is the same as was used in SJ's original, but I picked out the black, white and red papers to go with my playing card theme.

Love Games *On Sale!

I cut and inked 16 pieces 3" x 3" and arranged them onto a plain piece of 12" x12" cardstock.
Then I cut and inked four card game shapes from scraps of the patterned papers. and added these to four of the squares. I used the Sure Cuts A Lot programme for the Cricut.

I mounted the photo onto some dark grey cardstock and arranged onto the layout. I tucked two fans of four mini playing cards (from a cracker) into position as seen.  I added some large cross stitches in red DMC thread.  Lastly I added the title using Lush black velvet letters.

The photo is my Dad back in the 1950's dressed up for a photo shoot with his friend.

Thanks for looking and you still have until 5th March to enter this challenge.

How I made my February page II

I had so much fun making this page for the February Challenge.
I used a 6x6 paper pad from Merly Impressions called Bonjour by Kaisercraft.
You get 2 sheets of each design plus pages of elements and tags at the back, the picture doesn't really show the beauty of these pages, some are embossed and foiled.
With a sheet of natural cardstock as a base, I cut 16 squares of paper from the pad and arranged them on the page. As we had just been to Paris for a long weekend, the theme fit perfectly so I used images/words of the Eiffel Tower/Paris on the squares. The photograph was mounted onto a pink background and then random "X" stitches added with DMC thread.
I used a tag and cut out some butterflies to mount onto it.
This bottom square had a taller tower so I cut around it so it flowed onto the square above.
I cut out the bird and put him in the frame with 3d foam.
Back to my favourite torn roses for embellishment along with some leaves, stickled to make them icy to tie in with the photograph.
This is the pad I used.

Winner of January Card Challenge

Ali at Crafty Ribbons has contacted us with her choice of winner for the January card challenge.

She says: "I would like to pick Krafty Karen. Her style is very plain and simple but elegant, the ribbon is a feature of the card, not just as an add on - perfect.
Good luck with the rest of your challenges."
Ali

Well done Karen!
Please email Ali at Crafty Ribbons and she will send you your prize of this super collection of 'Love is...' ribbons.

Many thanks to Ali.
