How I made my February Page

Here is how I made my 'Christening Gown' layout for the February Challenge.

The challenge was to create a layout inspired by SJ's original and following our sketch.

I used:
1 Sheet plain Bazzill paper
Bazzill Cardstock in Tickled Pink, Sprout and Powder Blue
6 ½” x 6 ½” Paper Pad, Kaiser Craft Bonjour (24 sheets – 10 specialty Papers including 2 foil, 4 spot varnish and 4 die cuts).
DMC thread and needle
Cricut with Storybook and Mother’s Day Bouquet Cartridges
Perfect Pearls
4” x 6” photo

I selected the patterned papers I wanted to use for the background of the layout and cut 16 pieces 3” x 3”, inked the edges and stuck down to cover the plain 12” x 12” base paper.
Then I mounted the photo onto pink cardstock to make a mat and stuck this to the layout.

I decorated some of the squares with die cut shapes from the ‘Bonjour’ patterned paper book and some I cut myself using the Cricut and the Mother's Day Boutique Cartridge.

The flower was build from many layers of die cut flowers and leaves using the Mother’s Day Bouquet, the Cricut, and some 3 D foam pads. I inked the edges of each petal and shaped them with scissors and an embossing tool.

The lettering for title was cut from patterned papers - and a shadow from cardstock. (I used two sizes 1” and 1 ½” and the Storybook Cartridge).

I highlighted the letters with Glossy Accents, and decorated the flowers and other shapes with Perfect Pearls and Stickles.

I added some random cross stitches to link the squares here and there. To do this I made a few holes with a paper piercing tool and added stitches with a needle and DMC embroidery tread.

The journaling was added to a selection of journaling blocks from the ‘Bonjour’ patterned paper book.

Thanks for looking, please see the original post 'P is for Patchwork', posted on 1st February for more details of the challenge.
