HERE is Katherine's Blog - Fruit of My Scraps.
Hello everyone, I was delighted to have one of my pages picked for this months scrapology challenge. So a little about me; my name is Katherine Sutton, I also go by the name sutty in forums. I am a wife and mum to 2 energetic boys who are the features of most of my pages. I discovered scrapping in 2006 when my mother in law bought me a colorbok kit and fell in love with it straight away, it is perfect for documenting all the things that happen in our family life as well as being creative. My style (and my craft room) is a bit messy I love to use paint and flicks of ink on my pages, as well as make my embellishments and add lots of layers. 'Summer Days' was made for a sketch challenge at the Studio Blog (http://thestudiochallenges.blogspot.co.uk/) where I am lucky enough to be a DT member at the moment. The sketch was created by Valerie Mangan (http://paperandcookies.blogspot.co.uk/)and she based it on the page of another team mate Jules Dix (http://www.scrappingmojo.blogspot.co.uk/), if you would like to know how I made this page I took photos along the way which you can see on my blog (http://fruitofmyscraps.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/step-by-step-for-summers-day.html). I hope you enjoy creating with this sketch as much as I did and all the wonderful inspiration you get from the scrapology designers.
The technique is to use HEXAGONS on your layout.
Here is Sutty's original layout
Sutty made this page for a challenge over on the the Studio Challenge blog which is purely a scrapbook challenge site with a fortnightly challenge. The sketch was from a lady there called Valerie Mangan (who in turn based the sketch on a page by Jules Dix).
